Dale Butler, Manager Research and Development, Surtek Pty Ltd

The conference was good and enjoyed spending half a day at the trade show and still did not meet everyone and was good for Networking both with Vendors and others in the industry.
Marcus Tyle, Metering Strategy Manager, Energex, Australia

Smart Utilities Australia & New Zealand was a great opportunity for us to meet with prospect utility customers, learn about their most current communication infrastructure requirements and share Alvarion's experience in building secured, scalable and optimized utility networks for utility customers in other geographies, with similar objectives.
Eedo Lifshitz, Director – Utilities and Smart Grids, Alvarion, Australia

This was the largest gathering of dedicated Water Utilities I have seen in the region, and the interest displayed in Smart metering shows that the region is strongly progressing towards more Intelligent Water Networks. Well done Synergy
Gavin Van Tonder, Global Marketing Director for Water & Heat, Itron, USA

Smart Utilities Australia New Zealand 2011 provided an excellent opportunity to get updated on cutting edge developments in Australia and New Zealand in the areas of smart networks, smart homes, metering and communications, demand response, and electric vehicles.  With three tracks running concurrently, besides technology showcases, it was hard to choose which conference sessions to attend.  It was a shame that I could not be in more than one place at one time, and I look forward to the presentations being available for download, to see what I missed.  The exhibition also provided excellent opportunities to explore new products - so conference break times were not wasted either.
David Prins, Director, Etrog Consulting

It was great to see so many players from across the emerging electric vehicle market come together in the one place. I look forward to seeing how the growth in the market is echoed on the attendance at future conferences
Kristian Handberg, Project Manager – Low Emission Vehicles, Sustainable & Active Transport Branch, Policy & Communications Division, Department of Transport Victoria

The Smart Utility Australia & New Zealand conference afforded me with the opportunity to compare our progress as a utility with respect to Smart Grid initiatives and customer experience.   While there a many types of initiatives underway by each of the market players, they all have a common goal of providing quality, reliable and energy efficient solutions that will support the customer desires for many years.   The ability to openly collaborate with each of the participants attending the conference, providing an environment from which everyone can learn regardless of their progress in developing a comprehensive Smart Grid solution.
Donny Helm, Director Technology, Strategy & Architecture, Oncor Electric Delivery, USA

I got a great deal more out of the conference than I expected.  In particular, I found the experiences of overseas utilities particularly insightful as to the opportunities and challenges that may face Australia in the near term.
Mark Vincent, Manager Network Investment Strategy, ETSA Utilities, Australia

The conference brought together a wide range of “smart” interests, allowing a mix of ideas.  There were very interesting talks from all perspectives and the associated trade show allowed discussions with vendors.  We took advantage of the concession for multiple registrants to allow us to attend all the sessions and allow multiple perspectives from our company
Alex Cruickshank, Head of energy regulation, AGL Energy Ltd, Australia

I found the conference to be full of information and ideas. It is a great opportunity to communicate what innovative work and trials a utility has been doing and to also pick up ideas from other utilities. The opportunity to pick the brains of industry experts that attend is very valuable.
Andrew Geary, Metering Services Coordinator, Connections and Metering Services, City West Water, Australia

Synergy’s conference stands out among the crowed of Australian industry gatherings for its innovative approach to stimulating important industry debate, the quality of their program, the calibre of the presenters and its exhibition of cutting edge technology.
Ezra Beeman, Managing Director, Energeia, Australia

The very well organised 2011 Smart Utilities Conference was located at an excellent venue that attracted a very strong contingent from New Zealand and Australia. As a speaker at the Conference, my main focus was energy storage and renewable energy integration, making some worthwhile contacts in this area. I attended the full Conference and came away well informed on the progress of smart grids/smart meters and related technology and policy.
Craig Carter, Senior Planning Engineer, Verge Energy, Australia

I found the quality of the conference, from speakers to discussions of very high indeed.  Through the presentations witnessed, as well as useful contacts to potential new native partners, I have learnt that the Australian market is in many ways leading other countries in terms of smart technology deployment and competition within the market.  This of course only offers greater opportunities for those involved in the industry.  I hope that, following on from our appearance at Smart Utilities Sydney, we at RWE Effizienz can also play a role in this.
Edmund Barrett, RWE SmartHome – Product Manager for International Development, Germany

It was a pleasure to be able to address such an attentive and intelligent audience.  You are to be congratulated on assembling such a wonderful array of speakers and attracting all the right listeners.  All the conference arrangements were excellent: the marvellous venue, the quiet comfortable rooms, the first class audiovisual facilities and operators.  The programme was wide and varied but interlinked at all levels, making it hard to choose which session to miss out on.  Lastly, the luncheon could only be described as superb.
Leith A. Elder BE PEng, Principal Engineer, Essential Energy, Australia

From my experience, the organization of the event was fantastic. Your team have all been incredibly responsive, knowledgeable and helpful – one of the best I’ve worked with (and I’ve been doing this a while).
Victoria Spooner, Head of Marketing, Onzo Ltd, UK

I found the conference interesting with the highlight being some very original content. I made the most of excellent networking opportunities and have made some good progress on future projects. Finally, I thought this was one of the best organised events I have attended.
